I was walking through Kaleici (Old Town) of Antalya on my way to St Paul Cultural Centre when I saw a sign saying Sefa Hamam.
– 600 Year Old Turkish Bath which perked my curiosity so I took a right turn and was taking a photo of the outside of it when the owner Mustafa invited me in for a better look.
He encouraged me to take some more photos and gave me tea. One thing led to another and before you know it I had arranged to come back with my camcorder for a Turkish Bath to do a wee video blog of it. What can I say, I thought it was wonderful. I have had about 4 or 5 Turkish Baths before but none quite like this one.
Not only was the setting unique but the level of service in the bath itself was superb. My washer guy really went to town on me. I had quite a lot of dead skin (at least thats what Mustafa called it) come of me during the rubbing down stage which you can see on the video although my wife says it is dirt because I don’t scrub myself to death everytime I take a shower. I’ll let you be the judge.
Unfortunately the camcorder didn’t record the final oil massage stage so that is missing from the end of the video but that was great too. I had a bit of a sore point in my shoulder and he really worked it to try and loosen it up. They use a blend of 12 different flower oils which are good for all kinds of things and it smelled really nice too.
If you are in Antalya I can’t recommend a visit here highly enough. If you do pop in mention that you seen the advert on my site and if enough people do this maybe they’ll let me have another freebie down the road sometime. LOL.
