On my way to Olympos I noticed a new theme park for children called Dino Park which is close to Kemer and about 20 km from Antalya. It covers 30 acres and is Europe’s largest dinasour park.
I decided to take my son there a couple of weeks later. He hadn’t heard about it so was very happy with the surprise when we got there, as indeed would most 8 year old boys.
After paying 25TL each for the entry we walked into the park and straight away my son noticed a Sand Pit where the children are given plastic shovels and brushes where they can search for Dinosaur bones.
After that we walked around the side of the park with over 25 Dinosaur replicas, some of which move and have sound effects. At the end of the walk there are some that have a seat on top where the children can ride them for 1TL.
There are a few shops where you can buy some Dinosaur souvenirs and T-Shirts as well as some other toys and trinkets.
The other half of the park various activities like an inflatable Football Pitch, a climbing wall, watery football, 7D cinema, space loops, planetarium, mini club and swimming pools with childrens slides.
Here is my son playing on the inflatable football pitch. The plastic gets very hot so shoes are definitely required.
The Pool isn’t that deep though, so adults can’t really swim that well in it but it is good for cooling down.
It is situated on the main road between Antalya and Kemer. After we came out we went for Tea and Gözleme at a place just across the road from it and much cheaper than the price of the food inside. I’d recommend doing that or taking a packed lunch.
On the way back we stopped at the side of the road to have a few pics taken with what is known as Mouse Island in the background.
It was a good day out but as I said the prices inside the park were a little expensive, even the water, so take a flask. Children 7 and under get in for free. 😉
