The name Konyaaltı, which means "below Konya", stems from the fact the city of Antalya was an administrative part of the city of Konya during the Ottoman Empire and the location of the beach is where the steep cliff of the city ends. It is situated beneath the old city of Antalya extending miles toward west with various kinds of beaches from sand to pebbles. It has Beach Park lined with clubs and bars. The daytime beach clubs turn into night clubs at sunset.
